Newberry College: Canceled: Power Lecture to Explore Effect of Sherman's March to the Sea

Newberry College issued the following announcement on January 20.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Dr. J. Tracy Power, associate professor of history and college archivist, will deliver a free lecture Jan. 28 at the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum. The lecture, part of the museum's monthly "Lunch and Learn" series, will be entitled, "Yankees All Over: The Effect of Sherman’s Atlanta, Savannah, and Carolinas Campaign on the Army of Northern Virginia." Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch to enjoy while they listen.

The Georgia native is the award-winning author of Lee’s Miserables: Life in the Army of Northern Virginia from the Wilderness to Appomattox (University of North Carolina Press, 1998). Power was elected 2020 Professor of the Year by the Newberry College Student Government Association.
